Venue Information

Limited parking in the school car park, which is accessed from Viewforth. There is no lift access from the car park level.

There is also some on street parking, but on class nights the local area gets busy. We would recommend using public transport, bike or walking where possible. If you do need to drive, please consider leaving spaces closer to the school for people with mobility problems or those with heavy instruments to carry

There are plenty of bike racks immediately in front of the school’s main door, in the playground.

From city centre get any bus to Bruntsfield or Fairmilehead, and get off at the first stop past Bruntsfield Links

There is a small flight of steps at the main school entrance, which is on level 1. Classes are one floor up from here. Lift access available to and from levels 1, 2 and 3. Please contact Steve at SMG if you require access to the lift, to arrange to get a key.

If you need to use the ramped entrance, it is accessed via the gate at the junction of Westhall Gardens and Admirall Terrace, at the South end of the building.
The school won’t allow cars to be parked in the playground area, but Blue Badge holders can park on single and double yellow lines near the gate, so long as there are no pavement bar markings and the car is not causing an obstruction. The lift is in the centre of the school building

Boroughmuir is between Bruntsfield Place and Gilmore Place. Scots Music Group classes are all on level 2, in rooms with numbers beginning with a ‘2’.
Facilities: The SMG Base is in room 2.01. SMG tune books, song books & cds, juice, water & snacks are on sale here, along with SMG news and leaflets and information on a myriad of traditional arts events.

Toilets are on level 1. From the main school entrance, go through the arch opposite the front door. The toilets are on the right, opposite the Janitors’ Office.
