Make Music Day UK on 21st June is now fully launched and will be an entirely digital celebration. There are many routes for individual musicians, groups and organisations to connect.

In Scotland, Creative Scotland have funded #MakeMusicDayScotland to develop and promote Scottish music making and build the profile of the day in this country.

Join together to sing and play Auld Lang Syne as part of this year’s global Make Music Day celebration. Hamish Napier and Cat Myers have been commissioned to create a special arrangement and you are invited to perform it on 21st June.

Film your performance to become part of the musical video collage, premiering on the live Make Music Day UK online broadcast and linked to the global livestream. (Submit by 5th June)

Find a backing guide track played by Hamish and Cat, lyrics and sheet music with piano and guitar accompaniment on the MMD website here.

Not everyone wants to put on a show so there are participatory projects you can join in with to get your creative juices flowing. You can learn Bring Me Sunshine, the MMD UK anthem, with arrangements and sheet music to download and tag your performance #MySunshine to enter the competition for best cover version. For new music makers, there are online lessons and Bash the Trash resources, to build instruments from recycling. Create page here.
