Kirstie’s passion and love of Scottish fiddle music is apparent in her playing. Classically trained from the age of 5, Kirstie has predominantly focused on playing traditional music for the last 8 years, in particular tunes from old collections that are less commonly played or known. She is in her final year of study on the BA (hons) degree in Applied Music and plans to continue her studies at Post Graduate level.
Kirstie tutors on the Edinburgh Council Adult Education Programme, and also has private students. She is in the process of starting a ceilidh band, Reishel, and also occasionally plays with Da Hooley Ceilidh band. Another new venture happening in June 2020 is the Bealach Fiddle Retreat, that Kirstie is co-organising and running alongside Ros Gasson (Fun Fiddle). She is also Mum to 2 teenagers and 2 dogs!
