Freya Rae

SMG Tutor

Freya is a flute and whistle player from the Scottish Borders. In 2013 she graduated with a 1st in performance from Newcastle University’s BMus Folk and Traditional Music degree and has since toured and recorded albums with Manx music group Birlinn Jiarg, Holiday Club, and Freya Rae & Louis Bingham.

She has a real passion for teaching and passing on the tradition and loves to find ways to encourage learning and enjoyment of music. She is currently a full time private music teacher and is often found playing in sessions around Edinburgh for the joy of it!
