Midwinter Magic – Scots Songs for Christmas and New Year

Singing workshop with SMG tutor, Mary McCann

Sat 19th November from 10.30am – 3pm at Morningside United Church, Chamberlain Rd, Edinburgh

£12 (full price) /£8 (conc) /£2 (unwaged)

Come and sing some less well known songs for the winter season, old and new, from the Scots tradition, including rounds, carols, guisers’ songs, new songs and poems set to music. This follows on from the Midwinter Magic workshops in the last two years and will introduce new material.

Learning will be by ear in a friendly and relaxed group – no need to read music.

Tea and coffee available, bring a sandwich for lunch or go out to a local cafe if you prefer. A voice recorder is useful for remembering the songs.

Mary is a tutor with the Scots Music Group and loves collecting (and singing) traditional songs.
