5-String Banjo – clawhammer style

Improving Beginners

A full course following on from the short course offered during Term 2 last year. Participants will build on the fundamental clawhammer/frailing technique with a focus on developing a solid rhythm hand. We will cover the basic chords in common keys, work up a repertoire of tunes and explore the banjo’s role in old time music.

If you did not attend the short course but are interested in coming along please get in touch with the tutor via the SMG office. You should ideally have some experience on another fretted string instrument.
