Nigel Gatherer has kindly agreed to run a Pick ‘n’ Mix workshop in Peebles on Saturday 30th September from 2 – 5 pm. All the proceeds of the day will go to support a local community music school, Nomad Beat, which teaches mostly Scottish traditional music to young folk and adults. It is run as a charity with the main mission of providing affordable music tuition. See the work of the school on its website www.nomadbeat.com
A minimum donation of £10 is suggested. Donations will be gratefully received on the day. Tea/coffee and biscuits/cakes supplied!
The venue is MacFarlane Hall is at the west end of the High Street – enter down the right side. Disabled entry about 20 metres to the right by a wooden walkway
Transport – Border Bus X62 from Edinburgh Bus Station – half-hourly at 20 and 50 minutes after the hour. Ideally, the 1220 bus is the one to catch and arrives at Peebles Post Office at 1334. The venue is at the far end of the High Street. Return buses are also half-hourly.
The nearest parking is available to the right of the church just over a bridge and then hard left into the Greenside Carpark. A charge of 20p for 4 hours! If you want to save 20p, or if the Greenside Carpark is full, another large carpark is available by turning left at the church end, crossing the main Tweed Bridge and turning hard left into Kingsmeadows Carpark which is FREE! It’s only a few hundred yards back to the venue.
