SFF Youth Engagement Project 2023

Calling all young fiddle players……don’t miss your chance to open the Saturday night concert of the 2023 Scots Fiddle Festival!

The Fiddle Festival is looking for talented young fiddlers aged 12-18* to be part of their Youth Engagement Project (YEP) and perform at the opening concert on Saturday 18th November.

The Youth Engagement Project (YEP) is a series of workshops for aspiring young musicians led by Graham Rorie, a finalist in the 2021 BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year.

All workshops and performances will take place in Edinburgh.

Participants can come from any part of Scotland as long as they can attend all workshops and performance dates.

 

 

Workshop dates are: Saturday 23rd & Sunday 24th September, Saturday 14th & Sunday 15th October and the performance date, Saturday 18th November.

For more information, or to audition, please send a home video performing two short contrasting tunes, no longer than 2 minutes each, to yep@scotsfiddlefestival.com by Friday 1st September.

Successful applicants will be notified around Friday 8th September.
*Participants must be 12 years old by 1st October 2023.
