Come and Play together in an impromptu SMG Big Band on Make Music Day, 21st June! An opportunity to play tunes together and raise much-needed funds for SMG.
The session will be led SMG tutor Sarah Northcott.
Tunes: There may be a little bit of arranging and practising of more difficult bits, but no tunes will be taught note-by-note. There will be some harmony parts for more experienced players to try. Music and recordings will be provided a week in advance, and be chosen from our Session Tunes books and other SMG sources. Cello/bass parts will be available if anyone playing these instruments signs up.
Speed: slow to moderate!
For: post-beginners upwards. Accompanists very welcome. Tunes will be playable on the D whistle (or adapted to fit) and some will be suitable for Smallpipes (in A). A few tunes may not be suitable for less experienced players, but an alternative part will be given.
