A feast for the eyes and ears, the Edinburgh-based 50-piece Big Folk Band plays folk like you’ve never heard it before.
A brand new, exciting Scots Music Group community project formed just last autumn and led by tutors
Sarah Northcott and Beth Clarke, this huge ensemble of local musicians packs a big sound
with inventive arrangements of traditional melodies and new tunes in the trad style.

You’ll see and hear all the usual folk instruments, from fiddles, accordions and guitars to flutes and whistles,
plus some more unusual ones including smallpipes, cello, double bass, percussion and hammer dulcimer.
Full of warmth, enthusiasm and musical joie de vivre, this unique and vibrant local band will really get your feet tapping!
