Sheena Wellington

Sheena Wellington was born in Dundee into a family of singers and factory weavers who gave her many of the songs which she sings today. She made her first stage appearance at the age of two when she sang at a diddling competition. Her singing of ‘A Man’s A Man For ‘a That’ at the Opening Ceremony of the first Scottish Parliament for three hundred years was described by The Scotsman as ’.... a moment to open the muscles of the heart…....’. A passionate and articulate advocate for traditional music, her repertoire covers everything from Burns to ballads to the best of contemporary songwriting, drawing from the rich Scottish tradition. Sheena is an experienced workshop tutor and her workshops are always a tremendous and inspiring fun treat.
