Abi Sutton
Abi started playing classical violin at the age of 7 and soon joined many school and county orchestras, however it didn’t take long for her to discover trad music and hasn’t looked back since. She has played with numerous bands including Durham University Ceilidh Band and often played for Newcastle based Irish band, the Emerald Thieves. She has been attending courses and workshops around the UK, participating as volunteer, student and tutor for many years.
Being taught by excellent tutors including Zoe Conway, Bruce Molsky, Jock Tydsley, Tim Kliphuis and Catriona MacDonald, Abi now has a broad range of tunes from across the world. Now back in Edinburgh, she is keen to dive into the Scottish music scene and is excited about lots of music plans in the pipeline.
