Donations to SMG
An important aspect to Scots Music Group’s valuable work is raising funds so that we can continue to provide generous discounts to concession-holders, accessible events, affordable products and actively support our important community development.
With the loss of mainstream government funding, we’re now in a position where we must cover a significant proportion of our costs through our own fundraising efforts, including donations. We welcome donations from individuals, businesses and other organisations, whether on joining as a member, enrolment or at events, or indeed at any other time. Donations can be made online, by standing order, or of course by cheque or cash.
If you would like to make a donation to support a particular aspect of our activities, or include a bequest when drawing up a will, please get in touch to discuss how best to set this up.
Please consider a donation, even if just to cover the cost to us of processing credit and debit card payments (debit cards, such as Switch or Maestro, are preferred because they incur much smaller charges for amounts above £15 – a fixed fee of 39p compared to a % charge of 2.76%, or £1.38 on a typical £50 class fee)
The Scots Music Group is a charity registered in Scotland number SCO32702.
Use Gift Aid to make your donation go further
Your donation could be worth 28% more – at no extra cost to you.
If you are a UK taxpayer, Gift Aid lets Scots Music Group reclaim tax on donations you have made to us.
The UK government’s Gift Aid scheme means that, for every £10 you give, we can claim an extra £2.80 from the Inland Revenue, making your gifts worth more to Scots Music Group.
You can choose to gift aid your donations when you give online. And if you have a login for the Scots Music Group website, you can opt for Scots Music Group to gift aid all your donations by checking the box on the Donation page.
Alternatively, you can tick the box on the Enrolment form and return it to us. We’ll take care of the rest.
