Introduction

The Scots Music Group plays a significant role in Scotland’s vibrant melting pot of traditional music. Through the provision of classes, workshops and a variety of social events we encourage active participation by students and tutors in traditional music. The Scots Music Group is part funded by the Scottish Arts Council and is affiliated to the Adult Learning Project (ALP), a City of Edinburgh Community Education organisation.

The Scots Music Group is a Registered Charity and has a voluntary Board of Directors and a Membership.

We have one part-time staff member:
Steve Byrne (Development Worker)

We’d like to hear from you!

The Scots Music Group is very keen to hear students’ views on the classes that we run. If you have any comments on your class, or any of the events that are run by the Scots Music Group, please contact Steve. We are particularly interested in finding out more about the experiences of students who no longer attend our classes, in order that we can continue to improve what we do. If you’d like to let us know more, please email us.
