Harmonious Sangs! - afternoon
1:30p.m., Sat 15 November 2008
with Christine Kydd
Whether you just like to sing in parts and/or make up your own harmonies, come and learn some songs, arrangements and parts with Christine Kydd, one of Scotland’s best loved singers and harmony arrangers. Some time will be spent on practical approaches to harmony and vocal arrangements in a variety of songs. Singers will sing in parts and get some ideas in a fun and informative way.
Award-winning singer Christine is not only noted for her talent as a worldwide concert performer (Russell & Kydd, Miro, Chantan, Calluna, and currently L-Fish and Sinsheen) but also has a wealth of experience as a song tutor in developing, with local singers, community singing groups throughout Scotland (including Angus Folk, Breakish Singers, Sangshule, Sangstream and JustSinginBirnam). Christine is a “harmony magpie”, and loves to merge ideas from other traditions with the singing of Scots and contemporary song.
This workshop is repeated in the morning.
