Mixed Instrument - Improving Beginner 10am

Learn to play music in arrangements with other people. Embrace your creativity and enjoy the diversity to be discovered in the beginners mixed instrument group as we create our own arrangements of a variety of traditional tunes together. All instruments (and muscians!) welcome. For people who have been playing for a year or more.

We work on a wide variety of (mainly) Scots songs in a lively and sociable group. The group learns songs by ear and performs at occasional community events.

A lively, fun and friendly group learning great traditional songs. Songs from the Scottish Traveller Tradition, Burns songs, Edinburgh songs, children’s songs…

We also do easy warm-ups, rounds and harmonies, and occasional community performances. Suitable for beginners and experienced singers. No need to read music.

Mixed Instrument - Intermediate 10am

This class will work on arranging sets of tunes which are first learnt by ear (music and recordings provided). There will be opportunities to explore various aspects of arrangement and to perform in the community. Suitable for players of intermediate level and above

Fiddle - Improving Beginner 10am

Build on basic skills, consolidate technique, and learn more about tone and rhythm.

Fiddle - Upper Intermediate 11.45am

We’ll be working on technique and having fun playing as a group. We’ll focus on different tune types in various different keys, and develop our ornamentation and arranging skills.
